CANCER NETWORK PATIENT PARTNERSHIP GROUPS

34 cancer networks were originally established throughout the country as part of the NHS Cancer Plan in 2000 to improve cancer services. As part of this there are two patient partnership groups, one being the Anglia Cancer Network Group (ACN) and the Peterborough Cancer Patient & Carer Involvement Group (CPIG).

These two groups are not support groups and cannot offer individual advice or support to patients or carers. However, they bring together people affected by cancer (whether through their own personal experience or others) and health care professionals working in partnership to ensure that cancer services continue to improve and contribute to the development of future services. Both groups welcome any relevant personal experiences that can lead to improving our local cancer services.

Anglia Cancer Network Group(ACN)

This group meets at The Gibson Centre, Newmarket Hospital, Newmarket and consists of patients, ex-patients, carers and professionals who meet to discuss ways in which services can be improved across the Anglia region.

The meetings are held on a quarterly basis on Saturday morning and start at 10.30am and finish around 3.30pm. The group welcome and fully acknowledge the contribution new people bring to the group.
